Ignatios Papas, DO, is a non-surgical orthopedic physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New ReGeneration Orthopedics – Regenexx Tampa Bay. Dr. Papas is a native Floridian and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbial and Molecular Biology from the University of Central Florida and his Master of Science degree in Neuroscience and Aging from the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, and his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina where he served as Chief resident and founded the program’s Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Curriculum. Dr. Papas has taught courses in musculoskeletal ultrasound to residents across multiple specialties and to medical students. During his academic chief tenure he was voted Medical Educator of the Year at Carolinas Rehabilitation. Dr. Papas is a research collaborator with Columbia University Medical Center/Weill Cornell University on multiple projects. His research specializes in musculoskeletal ultrasound and he speaks at numerous national conferences regarding the advancement of techniques in the field. Dr. Papas’ clinical practice focuses on Interventional Regenerative Orthopedics – Offering Regenexx procedures – the Nation’s Most Advanced Non-Surgical Stem Cell and Platelet Treatments for Injuries and Arthritis under image guidance using ultrasound and fluoroscopy (live X-ray). He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Orthopedics, the Spine Intervention Society , The Interventional Orthopedic Foundation, and the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
