The ulnar nerve continues to be one of the more challenging nerves to study as there are several potential entrapment sites, and it can be affected to a greater extent by underlying diseases such as diabetes mellitus. This session will help participants design an electrodiagnostic study to evaluate the sites of ulnar nerve compression while ruling out other potential problems that can mimic symptoms of ulnar neuropathy. The ulnar nerve guidelines will be reviewed, but the emphasis will be on performing a thorough electrodiagnostic assessment of the ulnar nerve. Cases will be discussed with emphasis on the interpretation of electrodiagnostic findings, including prognosis and recommendations for the referring physician.
