This course provides education in the fundamentals of evidence-based medicine (EBM), including history and definitions of EBM, how to critically appraise the literature and determine level of evidence, how to apply EBM principles and understand clinical practice guidelines (CPG) and appropriate-use criteria (AUC) recommendations are developed and drafted and how these principles and methods permeate and influence the quality measurement and performance metric landscape.

The course is comprised of didactic presentations followed by Q&A.
Completion of this course meets the EBM training requirement for participation on all AAPMR committees for which EBM training is strongly encouraged or required.
