This group presentation will focus on several topics involved in the physiatric care of patients with stroke rehabilitation needs. Young patients with stroke represent a unique segment of the stroke population, and issues related to their etiologies, outcomes, and specific issue of return to work vocational needs will be addressed. Advancements in knowledge of predictive models of motor recovery will be presented to assist physiatrists with their clinical decision making in establishing realistic goals and expectations for stroke patients. Updated stroke rehabilitation guidelines regarding levels of care will provide evidence for recommendations by physiatrists involved in care of stroke patients. Financial and functional outcomes for bundled payment will be presented to examine implications of value based care in stroke rehabilitation.
